This species is widely prized among specialists and general collectors alike for its bright yellow spination and vividly contrasting magenta flowers. Rooted cuts of HBG 52930, two clones (clone 1 has stouter, more open spination than clone 3) collected Apr. 25, 1984, by M. Arandia (M. Kimnach et al. 2499B) 12 km. W of Aiquile, Dept. Cochabamba, Bolivia. $8.
