ISI 2002-20. Echeveria compressicaulis Eggli & Taylor ms. (soon to be published in Curtis’s Botanical Magazine)

This Venezuelan species is unique in its rosettes of dark purplish or brownish, faceted leaves and racemes of small, orange, campanulate flowers.g Its stems and peduncles are irregularly angled as in E. nodulosa from Mexico. Rooted cuts of HBG 75904, from a plant collected Jan. 15, 1988 by Nigel Taylor (# 675), at 2100 m. elev., 2 km. before El Morro on dirt road from Mérida, Dist. Libertador, Venezuela. $8.
