ISI 2003-2. Echinopsis ‘Mirage’ Limited Quantity

Flower to about 5 ¾ inches (14 ½ cm) across. Petals broad, elliptical and prominently aristate, rich purplish-pink with reddish-pink midrib and yellowish basal stripe. Outer stamens unusually numerous, appearing packed in multiple rows. Inner stamens in complete circle, all filaments white. Upper rim of throat marked with white ring. This is one of Bob’s most striking pinks when the flower opens fully at room temperature or somewhat warmer to reveal the abundant ring stamens. The closely packed stamens seem to blur, giving the effect of a mirage. Rooted cuts of HBG 89130, Schick 1357-57. $9.50.
