ISI 2007-27. Lannea sp. Out of Stock

This genus in the cashew family (Anacardiaceae) includes other succulent respresentatives, but this one is worth growing for its knobby pachycaulous trunk to 4 m that thickens slowly but dependably and may reach a diameter of 25 cm. Meanwhile, it marks the seasons with its cycle of attractive, pinnate, summer-green/autumn-red, winter-deciduous leaves. HBG 90219, from controlled pollination of Röösli & Hoffmann 1802, plants collected Nov. 21, 2002, at St. Augustin, Tulear, Madagascar. The inhabitants of Tulear are said to eat the fruits. $18.
