Described in this Journal in 1995, this species has not yet found its way into general cultivation. This should be readily rectified, as it is easy to grow and more manageable than many euphorbias. It is the smallest member of the E. heterochroma group, from which it differs in its spreading growth habit, elegant, non-variegated stems, and rudimentary spination. Pruning can maintain a compact clump. The species was found in 1984 by Ken and Anne Brown (#44) in a very limited area on Forole Mountain in the Eastern Province of Kenya.
