ISI 2010-5. Mammillaria formosa Galeotti ex Scheidweiler subsp. formosa Out of Stock

This subspecies is described as usually solitary with flattened globular bodies, but occasional multi-headed clumps occur. Heads in nature are rarely more than four inches in diameter and barely an inch tall but in cultivation can become massive, football-sized plants to six inches thick and well over that in height. The flowers are white to pale pink and are nestled in wool that is also enhanced in cultivation. HBG 97076, plants from seed collected at Doctor Arroyo, Nuevo León, Mexico. $6.
