ISI 2012-12. Aloe comosa Marloth & A. Berger Out of Stock

This distinctive aloe is one of the solitary, tree-like species. It can stand 2 m tall with a rosette of 1 m or more atop the trunk. The long, slender racemes can add another 2 or 3 m in height! Inflorescences are usually solitary, but several may be produced at once during the summer flowering period though the species grows mainly in winter, being from a winter-rainfall region of the W. and N. Cape provinces. Buds and flowers are typically a dusky pink color or the flowers may be paler when open, creating a bicolored display. We offer HBG 108057, plants grown from seed collected by Rod Saunders, Feb, 2006 in the Cedarberg, Clanwilliam Dist., W. Cape, S. Africa. $8.
