ISI 2013-21. Graptoveria ‘Accolade’ Out of Stock

Max Holmes of Strathalbyn, South Australia has been creating Crassulaceous hybrids for decades. Some years ago, he kindly shared with the Huntington some of his selections which we have been testing under our conditions and considering for further distribution. Graptoveria ‘Accolade’ was published in the Cactus and Succulent Journal of the New South Wales CSS in 1996 (Vol. 20, No. 4) and is the first of his hybrids to be offered through the ISI but not the only one to impress us with its durability and clean growth. It is a cross of Graptopetalum superbum × Echeveria globulosa, and features compact rosettes of glaucous, broadly spathulate leaves with a pinkish mucro. The inflorescences are short and bracteate and bear waxy yellowish flowers, more open than in Echeveria but more cupped than in Graptopetalum, and, like the latter, sport a few speckles of red on the inner surface of the petals. Rooted offsets of HBG 84992. $6.
