ISI 2014-2. Mammillaria schiedeana Ehrenberg

This slow growing but durable species is reminiscent of M. plumosa with its more or less pubescent spination. However, the most attractive forms have glossier, golden-yellow spination that makes an elegant foil for the bright red fruits which are produced somewhat sparingly, but even one attracts notice. The species is native to the Mexican states of Hidalgo and Queretaro. We offer plants of HBG 119764, selected for their especially golden spination. $10.
