This natural hybrid between S. arachnoideum and S. montanum apparently occurs regularly wherever the two parent species are found. The selection ‘Hookeri’ is one of these hybrids with compact, clustering, miniature rosettes (to 1 cm) of greener, flatter, slightly more elongate leaves than pure S. arachnoideum.
