ISI 2019-12. Agave nizandensis Cutak Out of Stock

This small agave has open rosettes to about a foot across with a few linear leaves, each with an elegant, pale pinstripe. These have finely serrulate margins and are surprisingly brittle, lacking the fibrousness that makes many agave leaves so tough. It is native to the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca where it grows on sharp limestone, often in fairly deep shade. However, when grown in bright light, the dark green leaves blush red. We offer HBG 134711, plants from seed collected at the type locality of Nizanda for which the species is named. $8.
