ISI 2019-28. Haworthia ‘Gintaikyo’ (Gintai Bridge) R. Wong

This is another selection made by Renny Wong in her continuing breeding program of choice, slow-growing haworthia hybrids selected for their ornamental foliage. Among the parentage of this one is a strong influence of H. venosa subsp. tessellata with additional color imparted by a secret sauce of haworthia genes, perhaps including H. emelyae. The name is a play on words for Kintai Bridge, a historical (1673) wooden arch bridge in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. Kintai means gold brocade sash while Gintai is the silver equivalent. We offer HBG 122885, plants from tissue culture. $20.
