ISI 2021-30. Senecio scaposus ‘Gerald Barad’ J. Trager

Succulent senecios are often confused with similar looking Crassulaceae but are in fact composites (i.e., Asteraceae, the Sunflower Family). A few species, including Senecio scaposus, have white or silvery leaves covered with a dense layer of matted, felt-like hairs. Senecio scaposus is fairly common in the Western and Eastern Cape Provinces of South Africa. We offer rooted cuttings of HBG 65288, a plant collected by Jerry Barad (yes, he did spell his nickname with a J) in 1975 at Buffelsklip, a farm in the Western Cape Province. This is a diminutive and rather slow-growing clone that has taken some time to propagate. $10.
