Echinopsis ‘Madame Pele’

Flower to nearly 5 inches (12 cm) across, but usually less. Petals oblanceolate, involute, bicolored, inners bright magenta and dark vermilion sometimes with pale magenta margin. Outers dark red. Throat-circle yellowish. Filaments dark red. Stem semicolumnar, to 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter; central spines to ⅛ inch (4 mm) long. Pele is the Hawaiian fire goddess.
