Resembling a form of C. orbiculata, this has smaller obovate leaves only an inch or so long and, while glaucous, they are never as chalky as those of its more common cousin. The flowers are similarly pendent but with broadly spreading lobes and are pinkish rather than orange. The flowers of this clone are large for the species (25 mm. long). Rooted cuts of HBG 67803, a plant collected by M. Vassar (# 4405), growing in shallow soil over rock, on an E slope about 3 km. up the road to Melville Dam, on the way to Kango Caves, W. Cape, S. Africa. $5.
