Next to A. sedifolium, this aeonium bears the smallest rosettes in the genus. These are 2-3 cm in diameter and arranged at the tips of slender woody branches that form miniature bonsai-like shrubs. The leaves are thinner than those of A. sedifolium and spatulate with conspicuous lineate watery green to brownish glands, especially on the undersides, and bead-shaped cilia on the margins. The flowers, produced in spring, are bright golden yellow. As summer dormancy progresses, the rosettes curve inward to form tight globular buds protecting the growing points. Plants from controlled pollination of HBG 76927, seeds from the Viera y Clavijo Botanical Garden in the Canary Islands, collected at the picturesque mountain hamlet of Tenteniguada, Gran Canaria. $5.
