ISI 2007-12. Albuca longipes Baker

Members of the genus Albuca (Hyacinthaceae) have flowers with two series of tepals, the outer spreading, the inner connivent (erect with incurved tips) but both series have typically white or yellow tepals with a broad green midstripe. The flowers in this form are of typical size, 20 mm or more long, but on compact inflorescences only 25 cm tall. A tuft of fine grassy foliage emerges from atop the partly emergent bulb. Divisions of HBG 95205, M.Vassar 4422, collected 27 km SW of Willowmore, W. Cape, S. Africa. $12.
