Senecio scaposus typically has spindle-shaped leaves covered with velvety white tomentum. Variety addoensis looks as though the leaf tips have been flattened and crimped like the edge of a pie crust, resulting in a spathulate shape and a thinner tomentum that allows the green of the leaf to show through a bit, especially as the leaf ages. Rooted cuts of HBG 67806, a plant collected August, 1990 by Michael Vassar (4417) from shallow soil over a massive east-facing rock mountainside, 3 km up the turnoff to Melville Dam, Eastern Cape, South Africa. $15.
