Unlike the last species (ISI 2013-9) with its curly leaves, A. villosa displays another fog-collecting mechanism: long, villous hairs that cover its leaves and a characteristic lean that may increase the potential root zone nourished by the condensation that drips to the ground. The flowers are a subtle chartreuse and have a delightful sweet scent. We offer HBG 109995, seedlings from controlled pollination of J. Trager 97-107, three bulbs collected Aug 12, 1997, from an alluvial plain below a ridge, about 10 km WSW of Steinkopf, N. Cape, S. Africa. $10.
