ISI 2013-15. Aloe ‘Oik’

This is the third and last of the Zimmerman hybrids to be introduced in 2013. It has fairly short, triangular, bluish to greenish leaves, depending on the season, covered with irregular, broad, often multi-pointed and therefore ragged-looking, pinkish teeth on the margins while the surface teeth are conical or merged to form raised dashes. Leaf apices are often bilaterally compressed with jagged teeth reminiscent of some medieval weapon. The plant’s parentage is ‘Confetti’ (an earlier, unintroduced Zimmerman hybrid) × KZ # 1 (A. divaricata × parvula). The word “oik”, in it mildest connotation, is British slang for a rambunctious child. Rooted plants from tissue-culture of HBG 109998. $15.
