This is one of the most widespread members of the genus Cheiridopsis ranging throughout the N. Cape of S. Africa into southern Namibia. Variation within that range has led to many synonyms described during the 1920s and 30s that reflect a spectrum of flower colors from cream to yellow, often tinged purple or coppery colors, though yellow is predominant. It grows in diverse habitats indicating its robust nature and therefore ease of cultivation. We offer HBG 133922, grown from seed collected about 10 km S of Kleinsee within the sandveld biome characterized by sandy soil and cooling coastal influence. $8.
