This charming Hoya is one of the more succulent of this largely tropical genus, with rounded, fleshy leaves reminiscent of tiddlywinks, the game in which plastic, wafer-like discs are flipped into a cup. Not many succulents in our collections come from tropical southeast Asia – this species ranges through Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand. The plant often grows epiphytically, climbing to higher and dryer microclimates, explaining its tolerance of succulent culture. An added bonus is the diminutive umbels of white flowers with red coronas that emit a delicious, sweet perfume.
