This species is distinctive with its epigeous (above ground) bulbs, topped by a tuft of spreading, grass-like, linear leaves. The subtle, tan-colored flowers are produced on spikes that tower to about 10 cm over the bulbs in spring. We offer divisions of HBG 128954. According to the original description in Bradleya 12:33 (1994), this species is “Known only from the NE foot of Bakenskop, 1100 m, on top of outcrops of Enon Conglomerate, in shallow, gravelly soil in full sun, among rounded quartzitic sandstone pebbles.” $8.

According to Dylan Hannon, the correct name for ISI 2021-26, offered as Ornithogalum sardienii, is in fact Ornithogalum lithopsoides. Apparently, Ornithogalum sardienii has larger, usually solitary bulbs.
