This miniature Aeonium relative forms a downy shrublet with rosettes of succulent, obovate, hairy leaves atop divaricate branches that are usually completely concealed by the densely packed rosettes. Under stress these can blush reddish or purplish color. The generic name is from G. chrysos meaning gold, referring to the bright yellow flowers.
