Flower to 4¾ inches (12 cm) across. Inner petals obovate, ruffled, bicolored reddish to magenta and orange. Outers light orange, sepals greyish. Inner stamens large and fluffy forming a dense cream-colored carpet that circles the throat, outer stamens forming a narrow circle, filaments dark red. Stem semicolumnar, to about 3¼ inches (8.5 cm) in diameter, with central spines to 1⅞ inches (47 mm) long. Named for Bob Schick’s wife Aiko. ISI 2001-53; HBG 85601, Schick 1327-25.
