Beautifully symmetrical flower, to 5 inches (13 cm) across. Petals oblanceolate, numerous, inners bicolored dark magenta and orange. Outer petals and sepals projecting beyond interior petals, slightly paler. Throat-circle pink. Filaments dark magenta, anthers large and puffy. Stem semicolumnar, to nearly 3¼ inches (8 cm) in diameter; central spines to 1⅛ inches (29 mm) long. Dependable flowerer. ISI 2001-55; HBG 85603, Schick 1255-8.
