Flower fragrant, to 4½ inches (11 cm) across, but usually less than 4 inches (10 cm). Petals bright yellow, inners obovate, ruffled, outers truncate, broader than inners and projecting beyond them. Filaments bright yellow. Stems globular, to 3½ inches (9 cm) across, central spines short, about ⅛ inch (2 mm) in length. ISI 98-6; HBG 81758, Schick 1405-30.
