Flower to nearly 5 inches (12.5 cm) across. Petals obovate, mucronate, but appearing narrower when involute at cool temperatures; inner petals deep fuchsia with dark red midrib. Outer petals marked with light grey, some streaked in light red. Throat-circle and stamen filaments waxy magenta with pinkish tint. Stigma green. Stem semicolumnar, to 3½ inches (9 cm) in diameter; central spines to 1⅛ inches (29 mm) long. ISI 2000-8; HBG 85182, Schick 1391-5.
