Flower to about 5 inches (12.5 cm) across. Petals almost spatulate, ruffled when flower is partially opened, inner and intermediate petals bicolored mauve-magenta to reddish-pink and deep yellow. Outer petals and sepals ochre-yellow, contrasting to inner petals. Throat green, streaked with red. Filaments orange. Stem semicolumnar, to 3¾ inches (9.5 cm) in diameter; spines to ⅝ inch (16 mm) long. ISI 2002-45; HBG 87021, Schick 1403-54.
