Flower to 4½ inches (11 cm) across. Petals oblanceolate, flat, rich magenta with dark red midrib and a deep reddish glow in basal portions. Throat-circle pink. Filaments rich purplish-red. Stigma delicate green. Stem columnar, to nearly 3¼ inches (8 cm) in diameter; central spines to ⅝ inch (15 mm) long. Named for the Greek goddess of memory. Remember her?
